Cover Ranger

Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park is entering an exciting phase of development, with new projects and species arriving across the site. To support this growth, we are looking for a dedicated and versatile Cover Ranger to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple sections, gaining wide-ranging experience while helping us maintain the highest standards of animal care and visitor engagement.

The Role

As a General Cover Ranger, you will be directly involved in the care of a wide variety of species across the park. You will carry out all aspects of daily husbandry, ensuring the highest welfare standards, and support section planning and development when required. The role also includes delivering engaging talks and experiences, helping to connect our visitors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing daily husbandry and welfare care for a wide range of species

• Preparing diets, enrichment, and supporting training programmes

• Monitoring health and behaviour, with accurate record-keeping

• Assisting with enclosure upkeep and developments across the site

• Supporting breeding and conservation initiatives

• Delivering engaging talks and visitor experiences to educate and inspire the public

• Providing flexible cover across all sections, including carnivores, ungulates, birds, farm, and small mammals

About you

The ideal candidate will:

• Have proven experience working with a variety of species in a zoological or wildlife setting

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining high welfare standards

• Be confident delivering talks and engaging with the public

• Adapt quickly to new sections and species, showing flexibility and initiative

• Work effectively as part of a team and independently when required

• Have strong organisational and record-keeping skills

• Be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
