Wales Closing date for applications is: 21st Sep 2025
Contact: Chris Dinwoodie ([email protected])
Sector: PR/Marketing
Type: Paid
Contract type: Full-time
Salary: £33,267

At the Welsh Mountain Zoo, everything we do is guided by Our Mission – to bring conservation to life. Our Marketing and Fundraising Manager plays a vital role in making this happen: inspiring more guests to visit, helping people connect with wildlife, and generating the revenue that supports our conservation, education, and animal care programmes.

This is a new and exciting role, leading the development of a marketing and fundraising department. Initially, you will be both strategist and hands-on deliverer: creating and running campaigns, managing digital channels, and shaping our fundraising approach. Over time, you will build and lead a small team (including a part-time fundraiser) to grow revenue and share our conservation story more widely.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver creative marketing campaigns across digital and print to drive visits, income, and awareness.
  • Manage digital platforms (website, SEO, social media, email, paid ads) and produce engaging content.
  • Lead fundraising activity, including grant applications, corporate partnerships, giving campaigns, and Gift Aid.
  • Build strong partnerships in tourism, PR, and the local community to expand reach.
  • Track performance, manage budgets, and report to the leadership team and Board.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in marketing and/or fundraising with a track record of revenue growth.
  • A marketing or business-related degree.
  • A professional marketing qualification, e.g. CIM (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong digital skills (CMS, SEO, social media, email, advertising platforms).
  • Data literate and familiar with (CTR, CPC, CPA, ROAS) marketing metrics.
  • Knowledge of corporate, grant, giving, and legacy fundraising essentials.
  • Excellent copywriting, campaign planning, and project management skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, suppliers, and ideally a small team.
  • A passion for wildlife, conservation, and inspiring public support.

Benefits include:
Free zoo admission (for you and your family), free parking, uniform, staff discounts, training and development, employee wellbeing programme, company sick pay*, and pension scheme* (*after qualifying service).
