Hours: Fixed term contract to November 2025. Shifts between 7am - 8.30pm, working weekends and bank holidays as required.

We are looking for energetic, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Zoo Team as a Seasonal Hoofstock Keeper, Supporting our experienced keepers, delivering the highest standards of animal husbandry for a wide range of species in the Hoofstock Section We need exceptional team members who are committed to the animals in our care and making every visit special for our guests.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring animals and their enclosures are kept clean, safe and secure and presented in a natural and engaging manner.
- Understand the welfare and dietary requirements of all animals on the Hoofstock Section.
- Deliver scheduled talks, experiences and displays as assigned by the Senior Keeper or Zoo Supervisor.
- Support the goals of the Chessington Conservation Fund (CCF) and the Sea Life Trust; assisting with fundraising events.
- Participate in education, research and conservation projects where applicable.
We need you to come with the right positive attitude, enjoy working as part of a team and in a fast-paced environment, and be able to deliver jaw dropping fun to our Guests!
Candidates should have completed or be working towards an animal-based qualification, and have previous experience working in animal care, have passion and excitement for your chosen field, with a keen drive to develop your career as an animal keeper.
Clear confident public speaker, the ability to deliver keeper talks and presentations confidently and professionally desirable
Full clean UK driver license desirable but not essential
Training will be provided
